(Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, July 28, 2017 in support of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, the Fayetteville Police Department will participate in a Driving While Impaired Checkpoint along Hoke Loop Road in western Fayetteville. The goal of the checkpoint is to educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving and to reduce the amount of impaired drivers on the roadway.

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, July 20, 2017, the Fayetteville Police Department conducted a search of an area in Hope Mills in a continued effort to locate Heather Carter. Detectives received information that Jimmy Proffitt had been to a secluded area at the rear of the Village Green and East Hampton neighborhoods in Hope Mills during the hours after the shooting along the 2400 block of Hope Mills Road on July 12, 2017.
