
Detectives Request Individuals Come Forward with
Information in Double Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) - Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit continue to investigate the murder of Jonathan D. Goodman and Dareon Tyrese Cook, which occurred at Smokey Bones Restaurant, located at 1891 Skibo Road on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Detectives are requesting anyone with information concerning the double homicide to come forward with information.

Detectives are encouraging anyone who was in the area of Smokey Bones at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything to please come forward with information and speak with Homicide Detective D. Franklin at (910) 723-4650.

Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have identified the victims of the shooting that took place in the parking lot of Smokey Bones Restaurant, located at 1891 Skibo Road on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
The first victim has been identified as Dareon Tyrese Cook (B/M, 18 years of age). Cook succumbed to injuries he sustained during the shooting.
The second victim has been identified as Jonathan David Goodman (B/M, 32 years of age). Goodman sustained life threatening injuries during the shooting and currently remains at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Critical Condition.

Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at approximately 11:58 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were conducting security checks of area businesses whey they located an occupied stationary vehicle in the parking lot of Smokey Bones Restaurant, located at 1891 Skibo Road. Upon further investigation officers located two males with gunshot wounds inside of the vehicle.
Medical Personnel were summoned to the scene and one of the males was pronounced deceased on scene. The other male was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are currently investigating the homicide and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The names of the victims are currently being withheld until their immediate families can be notified.
