Fourth Suspect Arrested in Eldorado Road Homicide
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, along with members from the United States Marshal Service, have apprehended Demetrius Hammonds, who was wanted for the murder of Alton Williams.

Hammonds was taken into custody without incident in the area of Tiffany Pines earlier this evening. Hammonds has been taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond.
The Fayetteville Police Department extends thanks to the Fayetteville Office of the United States Marshal Service for assistance taking Hammonds in to custody without incident.
This remains an active investigation.

Suspects Arrested in Eldorado Road Homicide
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit have charged four (4) individuals in the fatal shooting of Alton Williams, who was found deceased on the morning of August 18, 2017 along the 2800 block of Eldorado Road in the Holiday Park subdivision.
The suspects have all been charged with 1st Degree Murder, Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. The suspects have been identified as the following:
- Solomon Broady (B/M, 21 years of age) of the 1900 block of Progress Street
- Jermaine Florence (B/M, 18 years of age) of the 1900 block of Progress Street
- Olander Sanders Jr (B/M, 16 years of age) of the 300 block of Diana Street
- Demetrius Hammonds (B/M, 25 years of age) of the 2200 block of Carbine Street

Members of the FPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested Broady, Florence and Sanders earlier this date without incident. The individuals were processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where they remain this evening without bond.
Detectives are actively seeking the whereabouts of Demetrius Hammonds and are encouraging friends and family to have Hammonds turn himself into law enforcement. Detectives are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of Alton Williams and additional arrests may be forthcoming.

Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim from the fatal shooting on Eldorado Road as Alton Fitzgerald Williams (52 years of age), who also lived along the 2800 block of Eldorado Road.

The investigation has revealed that Williams was the victim of an armed robbery before he was fatally shot. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have information, to please call them or Crimestoppers where they can remain anonymous.

Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Friday, August 18, 2017 at approximately 8:10 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a deceased subject located in front of a home along the 2800 block of Eldorado Road in the Holiday Park subdivision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the male subject had been shot and was deceased. Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are currently investigating the death and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The name of the victim is currently being withheld until his immediate family can be notified.
