Update to Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit have identified the victim who was fatally shot this morning in the Fairfield Farms subdivision as Fahd Mjalli (41) of the 500 block of W. Summerchase Drive in the same subdivision.
The investigation revealed that Mjalli and Mohammed Alradai (32) of the 6500 block of Carswell Drive became involved in an argument outside the front of the home on Carswell Drive. Mjalli was the uncle of Alradai and both men were business partners in Fayetteville. As the argument escalated, Alradai produced a handgun and fatally shot Mjalli.

Detectives have charged Alradai with 1st Degree Murder in connection with the fatal shooting. Alradai was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he remains without bond.

Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Sunday, October 2, 2016 at approximately 9:10 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a home along the 6500 block of Carswell Drive in the Fairfield Farms subdivision, which is located in north Fayetteville.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation occurred at the home and a male victim was shot outside the front of the residence. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries sustained during the shooting. Officers have taken a subject into custody who was known to the victim in relation to the shooting.
Detectives with the FPD’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the fatal shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available. The name of the victim is currently being withheld until detectives can contact the victim's immediate family.
